Island Ridge Pheasantry

Island Ridge Pheasantry

Island Ridge Pheasantry was started in fall of 1970. Its existence is attributed to the fulfillment of the boyhood dream of George Merry who is still the owner, and operator. The founding premise was to offer upland hunting in the finest natural cover. It has always been our mission to sell safe hunting with good dogs at the hunters own pace.

Initially, Island Ridge Pheasantry (IRP) offered day-hunter memberships, which were soon replaced by corporate groups. The corporate groups included Winchester Canada, Canadian Tire, and American Motors, then manufacturer of the "JEEP". With the demise of corporate entertaining, a large number of groups connected with shooting sports continued to use IRP, including Ducks Unlimited, Hunter/Retriever Clubs, Gun Clubs and Private Hunting Camps.

To Dr. George Merry,
I wanted to thank you for a great weekend of shooting and allowing us to join you at the Wolfe Island DU dinner on Friday evening. It was enjoyed by all. You have an incredible spot on the island, a beautiful layout to say the least.

Again, thank you very much for your hospitality, very kind and appreciated by all.

Regards,
George Wallace
